Rainy Weekend

As we head into the wet season here in the Rockhampton region, the rains are starting to fall yet with the weather pattern bringing in the extra rain, most of the the eastern side of Australia has been drenched. Many rivers are full, some dams are over flowing and some cars swept aside leading to people drowning simply because they don't think that moving water is strong enough to take them.

Along the Capricornia Highway, there is land under water where you normally saw horses and how tempting it was to pull off, strip off and dive into the water. Shame about the barbwire one must climb over to get to the water. Not something I want to navigate through while naked. If I get the chance, I'll get a few photos.

I was at a mate's house today watching the V8 Super Car Class racing when a storm hit where I live. I'm told by a friend who was driving through at the time that all the cars on the highway pulled over as the rain came down to hard to see. I miss all the good stuff.

Later tonight, we lost our power. In fact, much of the neighbourhood lost power as the whole area was pitch black outside. I took the opportunity to venture out through the front door and into my front yard. I could bare see a thing. Houses looked like darker black shadows. When I walked back to the front door, I had to put my hands out in front of me to feel for the house.

Afterwards when the power came back on, one of my daughter's joined me in the backyard where some wind and rain was blowing around us. My daughter commented on how good it feels with the wind and rain when you're not wearing any clothes. How right she is.
